JCS kicked off its annual Math Field Day events this past weekend with the middle school-level competition! Afterward, students relaxed with games and camaraderie while waiting for the winners to be announced. Math Field Day continues tomorrow, January 30, at the elementary level and concludes next Tuesday, February 6, with the high school competition. Señora Fontanella, a native of Barcelona in the Catalan region of Spain, shared that region's holiday tradition of Caga Tió- the poop log. Caga Tió is a log with a red hat, friendly face and blankets. When he is hit with sticks, he "poops" presents under his blanket for good girls and boys!

Members of the new Hispanglish Empowerment Club (HEC) at Wildwood Middle School recently traveled to our nation's capital to visit the Mexican Cultural Institute.
