Blue Ridge Families, We had a wonderful first day to the 2024-2025 school year. With only one transportation glitch and understanding it was the first day of school, all went well. Thank you to the parents of students this affected, as your patience and understanding was greatly appreciated. Looking forward to seeing your children tomorrow.

Blue Ridge Families, We are so excited to welcome your children to a new school year on Monday, August 19th. Our Meet and Greet this week went very well and I am delighted that I got to meet so many of you. Just a couple of reminders for Monday. If your child will be a car rider and you have not filled out the car rider form in the main office of the elementary building, please do so on Monday after you drop your child off. You will need your assigned number to be able to pick up your child otherwise, you will have to come in the building to show ID. Also, students are not allowed to carry a cell phone during the day. If your child brings their cell phone it will be collected and returned at the end of the day. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask. Looking forward to an amazing year full of learning and fun!

Crafts, science experiments, reading aloud, and a special conservation project were all on the agenda as the WHS Key Club spent April 22 - Earth Day - with BRP students from Pre-K through second grade. BRP students enjoyed making Earth Day crowns and necklaces, planting seeds, learning about the water cycle, and making their own water filtration "tank" with Key Club members. Afterward, everyone shared a picnic lunch on the playground, and the teens helped pick up litter along BRP's walking trail before they departed. Thank you to these Key Club members for teaching our younger students the true meaning of Earth Day! 🌳🌿🌎

Some BRE kindergarteners enjoyed a special visit from George Mickey of the Jefferson County Historical Society! Mr. Mickey shared Native American artifacts with the class and relayed the fascinating stories behind them as told by the people who discovered them. The students were enthralled and loved touching the items they studied in their Native American unit!
